Introducing the Family Day Child Information Management Portal

On April 1st, 2023 Family Day is switching to a new, integrated system that will help us offer more efficient service to you and your children! Program information, registration, billing, and child information will all be accessed in one simple place: the Child Information Management Portal.

 

 

 

A new Portal that works for Everyone.

With more than 50 child care centres and school age programs – plus more than 200 licensed home child care providers – Family Day offers care to thousands of families like yours. But that means managing a lot of information, and we want to make it easier and more efficient for you to submit and change your child’s important information.

There are lots of benefits to the new Portal system:

    Designate who can pick-up your child, inform care providers of allergies or dietary requirements, and more
  • All-in-one-place portal
    Manage payments, registrations, and your child’s information (including allergies), all in one place
  • Real-time updates
    Ensure that your information is always up-to-date and accurate – down to the minute
  • Simple communications
    It will be easier for staff to send you information about camps, programs, and changes to your care – and for you to sign up for new programs
  • No added costs
    Our transition to the Portal will not impact your child care fees

Nice to meet you! I’m here to help you find your way through Family Day’s new child information management portal, or the Portal for short. Follow me as I take you through what the system will look like and answer your biggest questions. Let’s go!

 

What you need to know right now

Family Day will start asking parents to move over to the Child Information Management Portal in the coming months. Soon, all of your child’s information will be managed by the Portal.

What information can I put into the Portal?

Child Information

  • Manage multiple children – use one login for your entire family
  • Parent and Pickup Information – who is allowed to drop off and pick up your child from your Family Day program
  • Health Concerns and Immunizations – list all important health information, including allergies and dietary requirements; manage medications for your child
  • Registrations – register and withdraw from Family Day programs, camps, and care

Financial Information

  • Invoices and Payment History – keep track of your child care fees
  • Payment and Debit – set up automatic, pre-authorized payments, or make secure payments through the Portal

Self-Service Requests

  • Changes to Care – is your child missing a day of care? Let us know!
  • New medications – notify us of temporary medications or treatment plans
  • Subsidy changes – let us know if your municipal subsidy is changing

Putting in new information, or changing old information? It’s all handled in the same space, and with clear boxes, buttons, and drop downs. You can also upload and download PDF records and other documents to the Portal.

Will moving to the Portal change my child care fees?
No, the Portal will have no effect on your child care fees.

What if I have problems with the Portal?
Reach out to us and let us know! Family Day is committed to helping parents and guardians manage the transition to the Portal as easily as possible.

Do I need a separate account for each of my children? Or what if they are in different programs?
No, you only need one single Portal account to manage all of your children’s information, no matter how many children you have!

How fast does information get updated on the Portal?
Information is updated instantly on the Portal, but it may take until the next business day for Family Day staff to be notified of changes made.

Do I need a computer to access the Portal?
The Portal is accessible through computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets, as long as you have internet/WiFi access. If you do not have access to any of these devices and need to make changes to your child’s information, please contact us and we will help you make any updates that are needed.
