Get Out and MOVE for Family Day 2025 – Event Recap
On Saturday, October 4th, we gathered once again at the beautiful Kortright Centre for Conservation for our annual Get Out and MOVE for Family Day event—and what a day it was! With 915 participants, families enjoyed a full day of exploration, movement, creativity, and connection in nature.
The grounds came alive with a range of hands-on, culturally rich, and nature-focused experiences. Families took part in activities such as clay creations, yoga with Playocity, seed ball making, storytelling on Aki with Maya-Rose Simon, African village drumming with Njacko Backo, environmental learning through Adventures Against Plastics: Lessons Learned from Ghana (thanks to University of Waterloo students Kirsty and Jordan), and additional programs led by our EarlyON centre teams. There was something meaningful, active, and fun for every age and interest.
The weather was perfect—and the community spirit was even better!
