Family Day’s EarlyON Child & Family Centres are welcoming, supportive and accessible places where children (birth to six years of age) and their parents, grandparents and caregivers can play and learn together.

Family Day EarlyON centres located in Toronto, Markham, Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough and Thornhill provide places where parents and caregivers can:

  • participate in a variety of activities with their children
  • get information about programs and services available to them
  • get information and advice from qualified EarlyON professionals.

Programs currently being offered …

All Family Day EarlyON Child & Family Centres continue to offer a variety of virtual, online programs.

At the direction of the municipalities in which we operate, some of our EarlyON sites have begun to offer in-person programs at outdoor locations (limited capacity, pre-registration is required).  In the weeks ahead, all of our sites will begin offering outdoor programming as an option.

Please check the EarlyON calendars (listed below) for more details about the virtual and outdoor programs that are available in your area.

Looking ahead …

Your health and safety, and that of our EarlyON teams, is our priority.  We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to assess its impact on our programs and services.  While indoor programming is not currently available at any of our sites, looking ahead, the intention is to gradually begin offering indoor, in-person programs this fall as the province moves through the various stages of opening up.

Please continue to check in with us here for updates on all three programming options (virtual, outdoor and indoor) as well as the most up-to-date information about EarlyON programming.

You’re invited to join EarlyON Markham, EarlyON Markham East and EarlyON Thornhill on September 30th to commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation with a very special visit and reading by Author/Illustrator and Anishnaabemowin language teacher, Juliana Armstrong.

In This is What I’ve Been Told, Juliana’s story of language preservation, she illuminates a number of Anishnaabemowin words along with their cultural connections, passed down from her Ojibway ancestors. Knowing our culture means knowing who we are. It’s been said when teachings are passed down from one generation to the next, good things can happen. Language is learned, knowledge is shared and culture is practised. When we know who we are, we can walk in a good way.

Thursday, September 30 – 1:30-2:15pm  | Registration is offered via Eventbrite.  Click here to register
